A Night Away

Yesterday, we had hotel reservations for Jim's Christmas party. We decided to bring the kids with so they could have a little fun too. I was able to get an early check in so the kids could swim. The weather may have been -18 outside but it was a comfortable 78 in the pool area if not warmer.
After swimming the kids got to hang out in the room while Jim and I went to his party. They had it made pizza and movies.
Jim and I had a good time, Lots of good conversations, laughing and dancing. Jim did dance with me a little.(he is not big on dancing). To me the best part was when we were slow dancing one of his co-workers had a little to much to drink that he decided he needed to dance with Jim. LOL I had a little to drink. LOL And decided I could still dance like I was 18 again. I danced like I used to dance when I used to go clubbing. The good thing was I was not as sore as I thought I would be today.

Welcome to show and Tell hosted by Kelli. If you would like to participate jump over to Kelli's blog and jump on in. What a great way to make lots of new friends.

this week for show and tell I am showing a gift that my husband gave me about 4 years ago. Now it is an item that I only use a couple times a year. But it is one of my prized possessions. I had been wanting a gun for sometime. So, Mr. Wonderful went And got me one for Christmas. I am all about the right to bare arms and I believe in firearm safety. I took the class at 28yrs old just so I could hunt in Wisconsin. But I will not get on a roll about that today.

Remington 870 20GA

I know I am keeping you in suspense. So, I have this week is my Shotgun. And the reason I decided to put it on my show and tell this week is because tomorrow is opener morning for DEER HUNTING. ( I am so excited). I am also nervous. Because Jim is not going this year due to his broken arm. So it is just me(and some other guys that I know.)( Notice I said guys not GIRLS). So, I have everything ready to go Blaze hanging out side. Picked up license. ($27.00)

Extra Shells (13.99X2) New heat seat (5.00).

So I am ready for Saturday morning to get here. So please pray I am safe and that I can hopefully get a nice size deer for this year. Thank you for stopping by and visiting.

Show and Tell : The New Phone

Welcome to Show and Tell Hosted My Kelli at There is no Place like Home. This week I am sharing my new cell phone. I have wanted to get a new phone for sometime. But instead I got a new phone for my husband. So I had to wait.

We use Nextel for our carrier. And now Nextel and Sprint are together. The phone I wanted is a Sprint phone and because we do a shared minute plan I was informed that I could not get this phone which is a Sprint phone because I would be breaching our contract. Now the way I look at it is I write the check out to Sprint there fore I should be able to get what I want. I am staying with the same company. But no one was able to work with me. So with a little help from a nice sales guy from one of the mall Sprint stores he gave me the number for the Dispute Resolutions Center. I called the number and spoke with a nice man named Mike. And he was able to make all my wants come true. With his help I was able to order my phone at no cost to me. And he will be helping me with the switch. We will not be breaching our contract plus We will not be spending more we will work it out to it will cost us the same each month. So here is my new phone.

Show and Tell - WIne Cooler

Welcome to show and tell host by Kelli .
This week I thought I would share my wine cooler. And the story behind why I have it.
My girlfriends husband bought this to keep the soda cold in his business. But it did not do what he wanted it to do. He asked me if I would like it I was shocked. I asked him"would Terrie want it?" (who is his wife) He looked at me and said" we have no room in the house for it. So, do you want it?" Well, of course I wanted it I have been eyeballing them for a long time. So here it is : Now I have to fill it. I just recently went to a Winery and purchased some wine to add to it.
And as a side note I did not tell my girlfriend that I have it I left that up to her husband.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.
Also thank you to those who have been praying for my mother. She has been doing good starts another round of Chemo next week. My parent will be renewing there vows this weekend so watch for update and photos on that.

Our Satruday with Grandma and Grandpa

Last Saturday we went to spend the morning with my parents and go to the Minneapolis Farmers Market with them. When we got to their house Grandma and Grandpa had a surprise for all the grandchildren. A Rainbow Backyard Play System. What fun was had when the kids saw that.

Once my sister and her family arrived we all piled in the cars and headed to the farmers market. We road in the van with my sister her husband and their youngest son. (what an ham he is)

At the farmer market there is so much more than food.

bunches of roses (25) $10.00
my son loves sunflowers

We of course had to get a polish sausage when we arrived(9am) what a great breakfast for us all.

family enjoying time together

My son wanted this little dragon stuffed toy.

And we got green beans o-plenty. (my son ate half the bag as we walked around what great snack food for him to choose).

my nephew enjoying a green bean

As we walked around my mom keep bringing up me making her egg rolls. I told her with the size of the cabbages we saw I would need two waks , two people rolling and two deep fryers to get them made because the cabbages could make at least 200 + egg rolls.
the cabbage is almost as big as him

We had such a nice and memorable day with her I was so glad to have the time to spend with my mom.
my mom looks great even with out hair. You can take her
her hair but her beauty is always there.

Of course one must get a massage when it is available

First Avenue and 7th Street Entry made famous in the movie
Purple Rain. I used to hang out here as a youth. At least the last time I
was there the inside was the same as in the movie no changes.

My son made me feel like a tourist "mom take a picture of the tall buildings" that boy is becoming all country.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting.

Show and Tell

Welcome to show and tell Friday Hosted by our friend Kelli. I was really having a hard time trying to see what I would have for today and then it came to me. If you read my earlier post from this week called Sneaky Mom-contest you will understand my little story.
So, last night I was going trough a box that I have had in the basement for a year. And trying to see if there was anything important in that box. All that was in the box was so vhs movies and Beanie Babies. Some floating candles and some plastic Cream and sugar holders. I asked my young man to please put the cram and sugar holders in the garbage . He responded with "mom, I want them." My response was, " no you do not need them they are garbage." My husband jumps in and says "just let him have them. " Now with that said I think he gets his packratism from both of us not just me. Here I am trying to remove stuff and here is dad saying just let him have it.
Thank you for stopping by I wish I had something more intresting to share but sometimes we just have boring stuff that happens. Now do not forget to check out my Contest. Please enter if you want the more the better.

Amazing

For show and tell this week hosted by Kelli I have a little story and things.
I have been for years only able to drive a automatic ask me to drive a stick and I would say nope do not know how to drive one. My father tried to teach me many years ago. That did not work out to well as we could tell I had no interest. I remember one time I was looking at a new car at the dealership and the sales guy offered to teach me and I said "nope I break it I buy it".

So yesterday was my 32nd birthday and my girlfriend got a hold of our friends Jeep and said come on your learning how to drive a stick. I said OK lets give it a go.

I did not grind the gears stalled it out a few times and found inclines a challenge but I made it. So now I can say yes I can drive a stick. Not a pro yet but give me some time and I will have it down really good. So , I now can mark that off my list of things to do.

Also amazing I made it through my birthday with out getting spanked. (hahahahaa). I had a great day I thought I would share the card my husband gave me I am in trouble now:( so a warning ladies if you get this card do not do what I did)

Show and Tell

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday hosted by Kelli. This week for my show and tell I thought I would share my wedding photos since to day is our Anniversary. (5 yrs). Jim and I meet through his Brother and a mutual friend. I could not ask for a better man in my life.
See before I met Jim I was on a very destructive path lots of drinking and other things, not caring what people thought and then he came in to my life and it all changed. For the best. When we decided to get married it was all planned within 4months. (I am very impatient). We had a lot of help from my parents and with out them our reception would have been KFC literally. At a run down hall on the Mississippi River. So with their help we had it a very fancy Golf Club with a beautiful hall. And the Grounds where we said our vows. It is a day I will never forget.
  • A DJ: $700.00
  • Tux : $95.00
  • A prom dress as a wedding dress $150.00
  • A Hall: price unknown
  • A day to remember forever: priceless

Show and tell

For SHOW AND TELL this week I would share one of my best treasures in the planet. My SISTERS. There is me Sarah, A, and S( due to privacy issues I only use their Initials.) I am the oldest by 12 yrs to A and about 7 years to S. Then, there is S. She is the smart, talented, stylish one. She is the one who got me interested in Blogging.

A, is the youngest(don't call her the baby though) she is the hip, youthful one, goofy and silly.

We all have different personalities, and look very different. S, is very expressive in her blogs tells it how she sees it and A is so busy working that she has a hard time just stopping to smell the roses. We are all very outspoken thanks to our mother.

I am very thankful to have them in my life and sometimes I do not express it as much as I should. So, I felt I would today for all to see.
