Granduation 2008

Last night we went to the graduation of this years senior class. We were asked to attend by friends of ours whose daughter was graduating. And since gas prices are so high and there really is no other thing to do on a Friday night.(In a town of 1200 where most of it was at Graduation) So off to school we go. After arriving I had run outside with my girlfriend as she proceeds to tell me that "I have to bring crayons and candy to keep G busy." Now G is her husband. I looked at her very strangely. She then said, "He is worse than Little man. He can not sit still at things like this. He needs something to keep his hands busy."
That was all I needed to hear. I laughed so hard with the thought of a 45yr old man coloring during graduation. (the crayon were Finding Nemo Crayons).

Construction Entertainment

Today on our way home from work we had the normal Minnesota Construction hassle( also know as one of the seasons here). Except, this time it was fun. You see just as we were driving up to the stop I say a young man go running down the hill to where there were some trackers. And he did the man stance of Peeing. I could not help myself. I yell " That is not a bathroom!!!" I had my husband and girlfriend just laughing in the car. He said something back but I could not hear it. Then as he was walking back up the hill I can not help myself I yell" You did not wash your hands!!!!" He was a little embarrassed. So, he took out his water bottle and dumped some on his hands. As we were progressing through the wait I told him thanks for the entertainment. His co-workers just laughed.

Are there any happy People out there

I wonder are there any people out there that are happy. Maybe it is just me but I have to listen to how bad life is everyday from the same person. It is at the point that I do not even want to talk to this person. When I told this person about what is going on with Jim's mom. This persons issues were so much worse. I really am bothered by this type of behavior. It is not a contest to see who has more crap in their life. Heck, I would do anything not to have the problems that I have been dealt. I do not know just a question. Maybe I am just looking the wrong way at this.

Lost Phone

Here is the story. On Saturday I took the kids out Geocaching for the day. We had a plan of at least 15 caches to find. We were doing great until I realized on our way back from a cache that I realized that my phone feel out of my pocket of my sweatshirt. After returning to the car with the kids I told them I need to go back and get my phone. I found it where it fell out and was quite relived that I found it. Called Jim and told him Found my phone. He said I did not know you lost it. I decided that I should put it in my camera case from here on out. After a quick pit stop we were off and caching again. We ended up at Riverwalk park. I decided it was best if mom went to get the cache since it was on the other side of the river and was a steep climb and did not want the kids to get hurt. So I handed the camera and the camera bag to Brit and Little man. We logged our find and off we went to a bunch more. After about 45 min I realized I had no PHONE. I had only taken out the camera bag at Riverwalk park and our last stop. So, the kids and I retraced all the caches we had been at between the two. NO PHONE. OK, unable to call husband and find out if someone has called about the phone. Or even tell him I lost it. CRAP.
Off to home we go. Now, Jim, myself and the kids go back with his phone and start to look for it. No luck.
Now here is where it get juicy. We get back home and Jim says Call SPRINT. You had the location turned on on your phone they should be able to get you the coordinates.
Why didn't I think of that. I call them and tell them I lost my phone BUT I had the LOCATION on. So, if you could just give me the coordinates of the phone I could find it. That is what I do locate things with my GPS for fun. I hear I'm sorry we are unable to get that information. The only way to do it is if you had a phone already with the SUBSCRIPTION of locating on. Now I can not just turn it on and pay the $25.00 or what ever it costs so I can find my phone. No, I am sorry.
Now I am upset. I told them to turn the phone off. I have now sent an email to sprint in regards to being unhappy about this whole location thing. I'll keep you posted.
On, Sunday I got a new phone.
And guess what? Monday night I get a call telling me someone found my PHONE at RIVERWALK PARK. Go figure.
From now on I will leave the phone in the glove box.

Just thinking

I am really missing mom today. Knowing that tomorrow is Mothers Day. I usually am looking at all the wonderful plants and items for the yard for her. But I have yet to walk in to a greenhouse. I have no interest in doing my own planting. Every year I would try to get her a new a unique plant. That way when it came up the next year she could look at it and think of me. Now I go and see all the plants I have given her over the years and am sadden by the fact that she is not here to enjoy them. I have yet to decide what I am doing for Mothers Day. Am I going to my parents or am I going to stay home.
I have thought about going and doing some New State Park Geocaches early in the morning. But after that I have no clue.
I feel I may have to figure something out.

Aphid????

Aphid.
" Mom, we learned about Aphids in school today." Words out of a kindergartner's mouth.
" A what? " I proclaim.
" Yep, butterflies eat Aphids mom." Says my little man.
" He is learning about things that I am learning in school." explains Brit. ( who is in the 7th grade)

As mom is still dumb founded. So, what does mom do. What all moms do look it up.
Now I know.
Boy I feel stupid.

Never Thought it Would happen Here

I guess I have been living in my own imaginary bubble. In hopes that I would never be one of those parent who had to go to a meeting at the school because of Level 3 Sex Offender was moving in my area. When I first heard it my heart skipped a beat. To find out this predator is living so close to where my kids go to school is heart wrenching. And then to find out that he preys on young girls around the age of 13 makes me even more worried. During the meeting we found out he is a repeat offended and that he is no longer under supervision. WHAT!!!!!! Because he served his time he does not have to report in. All he has to do is register with the police department and have the community have a meeting about him. When it comes to things like this I really feel if you screw up once shame on you but if we let you out and you do it again shame on us. You are to go to jail and stay there till you time on this planet is up. I feel very strongly about this. This is a man who has hurt young girls. And must not learned anything while in jail the first time. He has been sent back to prison over 5 times because of not registering and using and having illegal substances.
Then come to find out we have 20 registered offenders in town. The town only has 1200 people in it. I will be doing lots of research tonite.

Day with Grandpa

Yesterday, Little man and I went to spend the day with my dad. So, at 7:30am I called him and woke him up and informed him we were driving in for the day. We arrived a little after 9:00am and had breakfast with him and visited.

I Brought down my dog Curlie, also to hang out with Buddy.(my dads dog).
Buddy
We sat around and talked and I then informed him that there were some Geocaches in the area I wanted to go and find and I wanted him to join us. Dad watching Little Man play
It was still chilly so we had our coats on
After hanging outside and playing we went on our hunt. There were two within a mile of the house. This was the first time my dad has ever Geocached so it was new and exciting to see what it was all about and I was excited to share something I enjoy with him. I have to say my favorite one that we did was place on public property between two houses. Yet, if you looked at it you would have thought it was on someones property. My dad seemed a little hesitant in going for that one. Not Little man he was right on it. Opening it and pulling out the treasures. Most of the ones we did were what you would call Urban Caches. We did end up doing one that would be off the beaten track. I gave my dad the GPS and told him to lead the way. Now now here is the thing my dad was not really dressed for this he had dress shoes on.LOL So we ended up on a DNF for that one because the ground was very wet and flooded.
Dad leading the way.

Off the beaten path watch out your going to get wet feet
After some fun Geocaching we went to the mausoleum and visited Mom. And off to lunch we went. After lunch we headed back to dads and Little Man played for a while in the backyard.

What a ham. He loves to have his picture taken by me. Look at those dirty hands. He is boy in

the truest sense of the word.

Here he thinks the slide is for the dog too.

Going head first down.

Welcome to my round in the round robin challenge. Here is a photo from last spring. We were able to do yard clean up and stuff but this year the weather is just not working out right for us. had this beautifl rose coming in and it was only May 4th then. This year I will be surprise if it comes due to the weather being off. I know it is not really cleaning but it does make everything look Fresh and clean.
Other photo Ideas.
Old Buildings - now a days things are all built the same.
Roads less traveled - find the road that is just amazing and for some reason it just makes your heart jump.
Travel - have a challenge of events or special days in your area. Kind of a travel sight make others want to come and see the happenings there.

The Weather

Help I am stuck here and during the week it is beautiful but as soon as the weekend comes here comes the crappy weather. Today HI of 49 and rain possible SNOW. Saturday HI 50 rain. How am I to get any work......opps I mean fun done with my kids.
Brit is off to her fathers this weekend. So, that just leaves me and Little Man home. So, I figured if I could find away we may go and see the movie Ironman. We like those kind of movies. We have almost all the Marvel movies made to date. Have I ever said I was a movie buff. Love movies. Can never watch enough. Well, I am off to work. I began my 5 day work week this week and am not looking forward to it. Like hubby said"It kind of sucks when you are used to working Fridays and getting paid time and a half and now you only get straight pay for Fridays." But that is ok because at noon I will be on time and a half I have been working 9 hour days all week.

Showing of Love

My husband is not the big romantic type. You almost have to beg for romance. But he is the guy that will make sure my car is running good. Since he is going away for the weekend. And shows me what I need to do to fix it if something happens. I remember reading a story about a wife whose husband would buy her odd gift for her birthday or christmas. Like a snow blower when all she wanted was say a new purse. Or a fishing pole. Then when she asked him why he bought these gifts it was so she could get out of the driveway when it snowed or to fish for food. My husband is kind of like that. I may want something that would make me smile but in the end it is the thought he puts in to his items. I feel in his own way he is romantic.
Now if we could only get the kids to show by cleaning their rooms.LOL
