Christmas

Ok, so I know it is early to tell everyone what I want for Christmas. But I found the best thing. Best Buy is now offering a Pitch in card. Where you can go to the Best Buy Website and under the Gifts tab you can look for someone who has either posted a wish list or signed up for a pitch in card. I posted both. I want a new camera. Now, here I am giving my friends and family the chance to help me purchase my camera.

My new Tattoo

I am planning on getting a new tattoo. Here are two designed I like and am trying to decided which one to get. I think the first one is beautiful. But am worried that there may be to much detail and Jim's brother may not be able to do it.

This one I just love. It is cute and sassy. Just like me.

Now, I have a few others I am looking at. I do not have the pictures of them yet.

Flea Market

I have been selling at Flea Markets almost every Saturday this summer. It is quite interesting to say. The people you meet is just amazing. And the things you see people buying and selling. Well, that is amazing also. I have a large variety in what I sell. I sell dog and cat toys and treats along with antiques. I have a few miscellaneous items also. One never knows what they will sell or if anything but it is fun.
When you are new to venue the veterans are one of two ways. Either they are very helpful or they are vultures. I have had dealings with both. See they come over to see what you have and they are very smart about values of most items. And if you have something valuable marked really cheap they grab it right away. So, they can sell it at there stand.
I know my pricing is good. Because they look at what I have but do not try to buy it. I only had one buy from me and turn around and put the item in there stand. I still made a profit off of it so I was good with it.
Then you have the helpful vendors. That want to talk with you and get to know you and help you set up with out anything in return. They are also the ones that will reduce prices on things for you if you are looking to buy.(I got a pair of Born Boots for $35.00 ). Some are willing to share coffee in the morning and just all around good people.
Yesterday I had a vendor want to trade with me. I have a Monmouth, Ill Cookie jar(formerly Western Pottery). I am asking $35.00 or best offer on it. He have this beautiful antique corner shelf. He was asking $200.00. He started the day offering me trade plus $150.00 by the end of the day he wanted to strait up trade. I could not fit it in my car and was not going to strap it to the roof.
Last, week I made a great sale I have a Hull vase that was picked up at a garage sale for .25 and I was able to sell it for $80. This week is what I call a mans week. The men were out looking for tools and such but the ladies were not shopping. It did not help that the weather was crappy also.
That is my adventure at the flea markets

How things Change

Oh, how things change. My little man is growing up so fast in front of my eyes. He has always been my little Michael. Not Mike or Mikey. Michael. I have always viewed my dad as Mike and my son as Michael. But, I guess I can not stop the evolution. He has decided to start calling him self MIKE. He has been signing his papers for school that way and everything. To me thou he will always be Michael. Not MIKE. My baby is growing up.
And I have decided to go for the short hair look. No pictures yet but I should have some soon. People ask "WHY?"
I respond "why, does it matter? It will grow back if I do not like it."

My Tale of the Day

Last night I woke up with the worse sore throat. It hurt my ear when I would swallow. I tryed to avoid swallowing as much as possible. Guess what I learned...I ended up swallowing more. Go figure . That is the kind of pain I was in. I have been feeling under the weather for about two weeks but nothing like I felt last night. I must have been whining in my sleep because my husband asked me if I was OK.
I got up took some meds to help with the pain and swelling and went back to sleep. If that is what you call it.
This morning I ventured to see the doctor. Now, after they stick a Q-tip now my throat, they send me back to the doctor who says nope not strep. It could be MONO. Now, I have to go back to the lab and now they take 2 vials of blood.
Nope, not MONO. It is just a virus. She offers me a nasal spray that could help bring down the inflammation. Hey at this point I am up for anything that will make me feel better.
Now, thanks to the wonderful people at the pharmacy I did not get this medicine. They decided to tell me before sending it through that it would cost me $130.00. Now, me not liking that I have decided to rough it.
So, if you think I am grumpy I am sorry I feel crappy. And will for who know how long.
Well, that's all I have to say today. I think I will go back to bed now and hopefully feel better in the morning.

Shoes

My shoes. I have roughly 25 pairs of shoes. Most are for summer. In my pictures I did not show my work shoes. I have 2 pair that I wear there. I also have my fuzzy Croc's.
These are my newest shoes. I love them. My wonderful handsome husband picked them out for me.
Look how shiny they are. And so pretty. They feel wonderful to wear

Here is another angle of them.
And look they even came with dust bags to store them in. These are my creme de la creme of shoes. And so far they are my favorite. Now as long as I can keep the dogs away they should be beautiful forever. Also the daughter. She loves these shoes she was hoping they would not fit me so she could have them.

School is Over

I finished my last class on Lean Manufacturing last week. What a learning experience it was for me. Now I will see what kind of influence I have on others around me.
I picked up a laptop this week that way I can blog and watch TV at the same time. (OK not really) It will come in handy since I am always doing something on the computer and the kids need the computer for school that I have to stop and let them on. But now I can still surf and the kids can do the stuff they need to do for school.
Brit, is still going to be in the school play. That means she is doing good in school.
Little man is loving school. He is always happy to show me what he has done for the day.

Well that is the update for now I just have to figure this thing out some more and I will be able to blog and add pictures soon.

Whats new

Our house has just been go, go, go lately. Work, school. Family gatherings. You name it. And things are not slowing down anytime soon. Saturday I go to the airport to pick up my grilfriend daughter in law. Hoping to get a little of the MOA in before hand. I am still holding out on turning the HEAT on. Gas prices scare me. I will hold out as long as possible.
Best conversation I had with the Little man was this:
Little man: "mom, Ironman comes out Tuesday!!!"
Me: "yes I know."
LM: "I get to watch it with Terrie on Tuesday!"
Me: "I know."
LM: Can I call her.
Me: If You must
LM: Terrie.... Ironman comes out Tuesday!!!!
ME: laughing because the converstaion was funny.
More or less the worked out that she would pick him up after school. So they could watch the movie right away. And not wait until 45 min after the bus got home.
Kids are great for the soul.

Yep I am here

I have been super busy lately. I started my class and have been learning lots. The fun part is that my husbands company is also taking this class. So, I am in class with all of his upper management. (Owner to plant manager). And yep they all know who I am.
No that is not a bad thing. Since he is a good worker we have nothing to worry about. (no worries my mouth will not get him in trouble. LOL)
Kids are doing great in school. Britt is going to be in the school musical. So she stays after school everyday till 6pm. There are some nights that I wonder if things will ever slow down.
I ahve been helpping my friend with invoices for his business. And I have been putting a lot of time in at my girlfriends Video Store.
So blogging has not been on the top of my list. I would be if I had a lap top but not yet may be some day.
Well, Got to go time to read with the youngest.

Last weekend I had gone to Cloquet, MN to visit some friends and remembered the gas station and its history. First it was the only one he designed and it just celebrated its 50th anniversary.
So everyone thank for your entries ant taking time to stop in.
Oh, the prize is a Olympic pin for the 2008 games.
So Mamma contact me through my contacts so I can send it your way.

Car Update, and Other Stuff

OK I have a 1985 Old's Cutlass Supreme and we have now taken the standard V6 motor out of it and KAPOW we dropped in a Chevy 350 motor. For you that are car illiterate that means very fast and lots and lots of POWER. Can't you hear Tim Allen now. LOL.

Still a lot of work to go on the car but the "heart" is in. this weekend is the Car Craft Nationals at the State Fair Grounds so be prepared for lots of photos of cars.

Now this week on Sandcastle Mammas Blog she had a link to a Realtor her husband Photographs for and I had brought up the question where was the "stuff". I thought it would be fitting to show pictures of some home we saw this weekend that look like they do not have "stuff".

And these were the small ones. LOL

A Very Long Day

Yesterday was a very very long day for us. We were up before 6am out the door by 7am and back home by 10:30pm.
Phase One of our day........ We headed to the cities in the morning to join my family at the Farmers Market. Two of my Aunts and two of my cousins came in to town for a visit. So, that made it even more fun. And of course we had to stop and get our hot dogs and brat's first thing.

yep had to take two one with out me and of course one with me.(in the white shirt with the dog in my face. LOL)

After the fun. We headed back to my dad's house to visit. Well, dad like to take the scenic route and I of course have my camera in hand ..

What movie put this place on the map?Grain Belt Premium Beer.....Phase Two of our day.........Later that afternoon we headed to Uptown walked around alittle. Went over by the lake and stopped at Ben and Jerry's for a treat.

Usually there are sail boats all over the lake

It was starting to get hot so a cool treat was in orderCan not leave the dog out that would be wrong...Phase Three of our day.......The reason we were in Uptown was to "watch" the Art Car Parade. At one point we thought it was going to be cancelled. It started to rain really hard and getting really windy. Then all of a sudden it cleared up at the sun came out and turned out to be beautiful.

We waited at the spot where the cars line up to begin the parade for Tom the gentleman who invited us to come and see this event. Once Tom and his wife arrived he had asked if Jim would drive one of his cars.He has 4 total. So, instead of watching we got to take part.

Here are some pictures of some of the Art Cars

Now this is only a small grouping of the cars that were there. What I have next is a short video. This was so cool that my little man willhave memories of this for a long time.....

So I hope you enjoyed our day as much as we did.

It's Derby Season

Well, it is that time of year again that all the guys are getting ready for the the Derbies. And No Jim is not driving this year. Not that I will not let him it is just it cost a lot and we can not afford to run a car this year.
We have been down at the yard this week helping the guys with the cars and the kids have been keeping themselves busy while the men work. Yesterday I saw the funniest sight. Now Britt is 13 and has been practicing driving at the yard. She was out in the yard driving around with Michael. The owner of the yard went out to bring them back in. About 10 minutes later I see Britt come flying around the gate with Greg chasing her. (both were in vehicles). The sight was just the funniest. I guess he decided to chase her around the yard a little. Them boys never seem to grow up. All in all they had fun. And that is what is important.

The Weather

My goodness the weather has been crazy here lately. One day it is in the 70's and the next day it is 90+. Then to top it of the storms have been unbelievable also. They say if you hear a train sound comming from the clouds that it is a sign of a tornado. We heard that Friday. Wow, the winds really blowed hard but no touch down here. After it passed there were two rainbows.

This is not the best picture since I took it with my phone.
